I recently submitted a brief cooking video to the Food Network for a chance to compete in season two of “The Next Food Network Star”.  This is a show where amateurs and professionally trained chefs alike compete for a chance to win their own six episode cooking show.  Out of hundreds of videos eight were chosen to participate in the competition and mine was one of them. 

In December of 2005 I traveled to NYC and lived in a very sweet but tiny apartment for three weeks away from my family, my dog Diezel, home and friends.  Every morning the other seven finalists and I met in the common room where we would eat a small breakfast before traveling to the Food Network studios to tape the show.  It was hard work!!  The competition was fierce!  But I survived the experience coming away with great new friends, wonderful memories and maybe, just maybe, my chance at becoming the Next Food Network Star!!
